METRO RUBBER CORPORATION -Industrial Rubber Sheets
Metro Rubber Corporation (formerly known as Tata Rubber Corporation) is a customer-centric organization that has been engaged in the rubber industry for over four decades. Established in the year 1983, the company has established a reputed name in the rubber and polymer domain, the same being affirmative by the prestigious clientele that includes some of the most famous corporate brands in India and overseas like ISRO, Birla Corporation, Tata Sons, Vedanta Group, HUL, Reliance, M&M, NTPC, Power Grid Corporation of India, L&T, HPCL, Jindal Steel, and many more. We are a manufacturer and supplier of rubber products, predominantly sheets and mats.
We produce rubber sheets out of both natural and synthetic rubbers with smooth or textured surfaces. Natural rubber is extracted from special plants of the tropics, whereas synthetic rubber is synthesized from petroleum by-products. Most rubbers, when heated with sulfur along with accelerators, plasticizers, and processing chemicals, become hard as well as more elastic and resilient. This process is called curing or vulcanization. It improves hardness, tensile strength, tear strength, elasticity, compressibility, and abrasion resistance.
Rubber sheets are flexible, evenly vulcanized rubber in uniform thickness. These are mainly used for gaskets, anti-slip flooring, vibration mounts, oil and temperature-resistant pads, electrical-thermal insulation, lining of corrosive metals, water reservoirs, rooftops, cushioning pads, sound damping, traction control on slopes, seals for hydraulic and pneumatic systems, etc.
The manufacturing process of rubber sheet involves the vulcanization of homogeneous compounds using a rotary curing press, ensuring uniform thickness throughout the material. Uniformity in thickness is important for rubber sheeting because deviations above tolerances can lead to joint failure due to uneven contact between the two mating surfaces.
Synthetic rubbers have elastic properties similar to natural rubber, apart from each having its own unique set of properties; e.g., silicone can withstand extremely high and low temperatures. EPDM endures extreme weather conditions, including moisture, UV, ozone, and sunlight. Nitrile doesn’t decay in petroleum-based oils and fuels. Neoprene is resistant to chemicals, heat, abrasion, and flames.
We also produce molded and extruded profiles as per the project's or customer’s requirements. We have a team of experienced professionals who emphasize quality and timely delivery.
Furthermore, we offer flexible solutions for all your regular and customized requirements.
