Neoprene Rubber Sheet

neoprene rubber sheet

Neoprene rubber sheets offer good oil, chemical, thermal & weathering resistance

Neoprene is a popular and commercially sold name for "Polychloroprene rubber". It is a synthetic resilient material with high mechanical and chemical endurance, making it a popular choice for commercial use. Neoprene rubber sheets offer a well-balanced combination of physical, mechanical, and chemical properties.

One of the most notable features of Neoprene is its flame-retardant properties, along with its excellent resistance to chemicals, oil, heat, abrasion, weather, and moisture. These properties make it a versatile rubber suitable for gaskets, sealing, flooring, and insulation.

Major highlighted features of neoprene rubber sheets :

  • Resistant to a wide array of oils, chemicals, and mild acids,
  • Performs well under mechanical stress,
  • Maintains flexibility over a wide range of temperatures,
  • Adheres well to fabric and metallic surfaces,
  • No degradation or cracking under sunlight, ozone, or weather,
  • Satisfactory aging characteristics, flex-cracking, and shelf life,
  • Flame retardant, self-extinguishing,
  • Strong and durable, with excellent abrasion resistivity,
  • Suitable for fresh and saltwater applications.
  • Excellent physical properties, such as high tensile strength and elongation; low compression set,
  • Fatigue resistance.

We offer “Neoprene Rubber Sheets” in various grades with variations in technical specifications, such as hardness, tensile strength, elongation, compression set, specific gravity, etc. This entirely depends on the application's or user's requirements.

Application:

Gaskets, seals, lining metallic parts, metal-rubber bonded automobile and machinery parts,  waterproof clothing, diaphragms, insulation pads for oil, chemicals, high temperatures, bridge/structure bearing pads, resilience flooring for heavy foot traffic, anti-fatigue floor covering.

Neoprene Sheets are also used in sports and recreational activities, such as wetsuits, gloves, and knee pads.

Composition:

A homogeneous mixture of polychloroprene, carbon black, rubber processing oil (RPO), calcium carbonate, wood rosin, precipitated silica, kaolin clay, and vulcanizing agents such as TMT, BMTS, sulfur, and zinc oxide.

Standard Size:

  • Width: 1 meter, 1.2 meter, or 1.5 meter. Length: 10 meters per roll or as per the customer’s requirement.
  • Thickness: 0.3 mm to 50 mm.
  • Surface: smooth both sides or with a fabric impression on one or both sides.

Technical Specifications:

  1. Specific Gravity (gm/cm3)                                   1.1 to 1.60
  2. Hardness (Shore A, ±5)                                         40 to 85
  3. Tensile Strength, (kg/cm2)                                   up to  150
  4. Elongation at break, (%)                                        up to 600
  5. Compression set at 70 °C for 22 hours (%)      40 to 45
  6. Service Temperature Range,                               -40 °C to +120 °C

Sheets can also be supplied with one, two, or more fabric or steel wire mesh insertions sandwiched between rubber layers. These reinforcements provide strength, and thus the final product can sustain much higher hydraulic and pneumatic pressure.
